Tiësto comes aboard Holy Ship! for surprise set, epic DJ bro-out

On the first night of Holy Ship!, aka the dance cruise to end them, the few thousand very lucky voyagers got one hell of a surprise. After dark in the Pantheon Theater on Thursday night, the ‘Mind Arcade’ schedule featured a mysterious ‘??’ from 3am, right after German dynamo Zedd. That ‘??’ turned out to be arguably the biggest DJ in the world, otherwise known as Tiësto. And no, we’re not talking about Dillon Francis in disguise.

Appearing onstage in front of a disbelieving crowd, Tiësto got quickly down to business, surrounded of course on all sides by his DJ buddies. In the words of Spin, his set went from “down-and-dirty house” to “PLUR bread-and-butter: song after song of #epic posivibes choruses followed by a grinning melodic build, resolving in a completely buckwild drop.” It all ended in an epic bro-out featuring Skrillex, Diplo, A-Trak and of course Holy Ship! captain Destructo.

Meanwhile, inthemix’s man on-board reports that the first private beach party is proving just as FOMO-inducing as expected. With Disclosure throwing down body-jacking house at the pristine Great Stirrup Cay when he checked in, we anticipate tonight is going to get pretty rowdy. Refresh your memory on the full Holy Ship! schedule below – and stay tuned for more updates and photos.
