BPM Festival announces incredible Phase 1 line-up

For some electronic music lovers, Christmas doesn’t really fall on December 25. Instead, they trade mistletoe for palm trees and egg nog for piña coladas, and head to Mexico for the BPM Festival for a celebration of all things underground. The first line-up of the tropical fest has been unveiled, and it is absolutely stacked.

The BPM Festival is the ultimate destination music event on this side of the globe; one could almost consider it North America’s Ibiza for the glorious ten days and nights it takes place against the gorgeous beaches of Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where attendees can escape the cold by flying south for the winter. For its 2014 edition, BPM will start shortly after the New Year, running from January 3-12.

Crowned the “International Festival” of the year by this year’s DJ Awards in Ibiza, the BPM Festival promises a mind-blowing roster of forward-thinking electronic music in the form of artist and label showcases. Culprit, Innervisions, Life & Death, and Scissor & Thread are a few of the labels featured, along with the BPM debuts of Solomun’s Diynamic Music, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD Records and Carl Craig’s Planet E. Individual acts scheduled to appear include Apollonia, Boris, Daniel Bell, Chris Liebing, Dixon, DJ Harvey, John Digweed (Playing the same festival as Sasha? We’re crossing our fingers for a reunion), Kollektic Turmstrasse, Noir, Stacey Pullen, Stimming, tINI and Uner. Oh yeah… did we mention that this is only the first phase of the line-up?

Wantickets is selling 3-day, 7-day, and 10-day passes, while Orbitz is powering the fest’s travel hub. Take a look at the full first-phase list of artists, and stay tuned as we keep you updated on what is sure to be BPM’s biggest year yet.
